Tips for Staying Happy and Healthy This Winter

Happy first day of winter! Are you already counting the days until spring arrives? Winter doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. It brings with it the holidays, cozy fires, an excuse to eat comfort foods, and even a break from yard work! (That is, unless you have to shovel snow.) If that’s not enough to cheer you up, here are five ideas to help you make the most of the winter months.

Regular exercise sends mood-boosting endorphins to your brain, which help to combat winter restlessness.

There’s an old saying that goes: “There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.” Bundle up and spend some time in nature.

If you tend to feel isolated this time of year, make an effort to keep in touch with family and friends. And no, commenting on their social media posts doesn’t count.

Do the dark winter days get you down? Brighten up your space with pops of color and lots of house plants.

You can finally tackle that redecorating project you’ve been putting off, like redesigning your entryway.
